The round was led by "0 to 1 Ventures" and includes strategic angel Tunç Yalgin — who previously sold his company to eBay and backed founder Leo Popov's prior venture, TrueCare24 — alongside a group of U.S.-based angel investors. Capital is earmarked for go-to-market scaling and product development, according to the company.

What the platform actually does

Accessible via the Wayy.ai website, the system runs as an autonomous web application, removing the usual friction of keeping a local machine online. Once activated, it ingests the user's company information and LinkedIn profile to build a contextual map of the business, its value proposition, and competitive positioning. From there, it surfaces potential customers, drafts personalized outreach messages, and waits for human approval before any contact goes out.

The core engine — designed by CTO and technical co-founder Dr. Aleksei Samarin — is a multilevel scoring and qualification layer. Rather than applying blunt filters, it evaluates each candidate across industry fit, seniority, intent signals, and alignment with the user's Ideal Customer Profile. The framing from Samarin: the platform replicates the mental checklist a seasoned seller runs through manually, only across thousands of profiles in parallel. "The speed is what changes — the judgment stays the same," he said.

Why this round, why now

Popov, a serial entrepreneur whose previous company TrueCare24 grew from a localized on-demand healthcare service into a national operator that partnered with major corporations and state governments during COVID-19, anchors the timing in a specific workforce shift. "The number of people starting their own businesses has surged, and a big part of that is driven by layoffs," he said, pointing to the wave of tech-industry departures that has pushed hundreds of thousands of skilled professionals toward solo or small-team entrepreneurship. Approximately 70 companies are already using Wayy.ai on a recurring basis, per the release.

What to track

For investors watching the agentic AI category, the metrics worth monitoring are concrete: conversion lift on the outreach that does get approved, retention across the existing 70-company cohort, and whether the qualification engine holds up as the user base grows beyond early adopters. The broader open question is whether a "co-founder that never asks for equity" becomes a standalone category — or simply gets absorbed as a feature layer inside the next generation of CRM platforms.
